Much of the Russellville City Fire Department's time is spent in maintaining and preparing
the equipment that is essential in the case of fire emergencies
and accidents. |

The Russellville Fire Department and Rescue Squad |
| There is a strong sense of pride across the country in our fire departments, especially since 9/11, and The Russellville Fire Department is no exception. In addition to being on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Russellville Fire Department spends numerous hours in and around the community helping to educate people, especially the elderly population, about fire hazards and safety concerns in their daily lives. An added benefit of the training and education is improved fire ratings for Russellville and many parts of Franklin County, resulting in lower costs for homeowner insurance. |
| The crew also offers assistance in extrication of drivers and passengers in auto accidents both inside the Russellville City Limits as well as a large portion of Franklin County. The department employs several paramedics and carries fluids and drugs as well as a heart defibrillator on each unit. Each of of firefighters are trained at least as an EMT-Basic. They respond to all emergency medical calls within the Russellville City Limits as a service to our community. |
