Russellville offers all kinds of great outdoor recreation including fishing, golfing, camping and boating

Russellville offers great golf, camping, boating and fishing
In Russellville, outdoor enthusiasts enjoy a diverse range of activities such as golfing, camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, tennis and water sports. If you like spending time outdoors and enjoying nature, Russellville has all kinds of things to do.
Twin Pines Country Club offers golfers challenging holes in a relaxed setting. Because of the climate, the course is open year round.
Bent grass greens are perfectly kept on the 6000 yard, par 70 course. Pro shop is open whenever the course is and they have a full fleet of Club Car carts. Twin Pines is family oriented and has a lighted, Junior Olympic size outdoor swimming pool and a baby pool for the little ones. A banquet room is available on site, capable of seating 200 plus guests.
Do you like to fish? Bear Creek Lakes in Russellville occupy over 8,000 acres of recreational waters, some of the cleanest in Alabama due to the fact there is no industry allowed on these waters. Largemouth bass weighing over 15 pounds have been caught in these waters, with the average being in the 10 - 12 pound range.
Boating, water skiing and swimming are also popular because of the calm, clean waters and sand beaches. Of course, there are plenty of places to camp with all of our woods, Bear Creek alone offering over 160 full featured sites in 5 campgrounds on 15,000 acres. In addition, 8 fully equipped cabins were newly constructed in 2001, for those that prefer a more comfortable form of "roughing it".
